It seems like the year just started, but here we are — it’s almost the end of December, and with it, another new year has snuck up on us! We hope you’ve had a wonderful year, and we hope shopping at Bulk Nation makes it on your list of New Year’s resolutions!

Here are some healthy shopping tips you can use in the new year to get off to a strong start!

Clean out the junk
Before you go to the grocery store, make a quick sweep through your pantry, fridge, and freezer. Dump or donate unhealthy processed foods. Then you will have plenty of room to bring in the healthy new foods, and you won’t be tempted to fall back on old habits.

Plan your meals for the week

Before you go shopping, look at the store ads to see what’s on sale, and make a meal plan with healthy options. Be specific and write out what you and your family will eat each day of the week. Replace junk food with nutritious choices like dried beans, nuts, whole grain pastas and breads, and fresh and frozen fruits and vegetables.

Make a list

Never go to the grocery store without a list. If you do, you are more likely to buy what you don’t need. Instead, write down all the ingredients you will need for every meal and snack. To avoid running all over the store, organize grocery items by the order you approach them in the store.

Eat before you go

You’ve probably heard that you should not to go grocery shopping on an empty stomach. When you do, you will be more easily enticed by cookies and snacks. Try drinking some water or eating some fruit first to curb your appetite so you will make smarter food choices.

Whether your resolution is to eat healthier, save money, or even just make better choices, you can achieve all of that and more by shopping at Bulk Nation in 2019.  We’re proud to be a staple in your community and in your daily lives!

From everyone here at Bulk Nation, we hope you have a happy and healthy 2019, and we can’t wait to share the new year with you!
